“Do you have gelato?!”

Fair question… Often going together with a couple of wondering eyes, searching for gelato on display.
Yet, Schokolato doesn’t carry any gelato on display!

Our delicious Gelato are well-hidden under the orange lids, which protect Gelato from air and light.
That helps us delivering a superior-quality product.

It’s a choice some people define as “daring”, as – out of Italy – there is a limited number of people who do recognize the “carapina” lids, and know that – there below – there is a truly delicious gelato.

In our opinion , the “carapina” is the natural consequence of a quest for quality.
It’s a choice respecting tradition.

There is a reason why Schokolato has researched, and found, an original Gelato pushcart, dating back to the early ‘900, pictured and published in an historical book on Piacenza (“La Piacenza Popolaresca delle Vecchie Borgate”).
It’s an original item, like the one Lucio Battisti sings in the famous “Giardini di marzo”.

Do we use the pushcart? Yes, during some of our special catering events.
And it’s a great item to show next to our store! 🙂
